So what is ‘False Evidence Appearing Real’? A JSJ student who came on one of my self-help classes put it beautifully: ‘It’s like walking down a dark alley and at the end of it there’s a light and on the wall is a MONSTER shadow – you are afraid, but you know you can’t turn back – then, when you get there you realise that the ‘monster’ shadow is caused by the reflection of a little puppy.’ The shadow is just the distortion on the wall of that little, non-threatening animal.
