Versatile self help hold for the skin

There are many times when our largest organ (the skin) needs help. This is a great Jin Shin Jyutsu self help hold for the skin surface and much more. I have used it in many situations over the years:

Backs of thighs burning up

One night in winter, I felt the backs of my thighs burning up and I couldn’t understand why. Then, I realised that I’d sat down somewhere very cold and my skin was suffering a bit from frostbite! It was really quite sore – so I decided to go to bed and do this hold. After a while I fell asleep, and the next morning there was no sign of any discomfort or discolouration of the skin.

Jellyfish stings – ouch!

Another time I was on holiday in Spain, and I got stung badly by the tentacles of jellyfish floating in the water. Again on the backs of my thighs. Large red welts appeared with a painful burning sensation. Luckily, I knew about this self help hold so I was able to apply it immediately, and the burning subsided quite quickly. Within a day all the redness had disappeared and there was no scarring.

Red blotch on the face

I also used this hold recently when an angry red blotch developed on my face. It was quite alarming, because having lived in the tropics, my skin has endured quite a lot of sun over the years.

So I dutifully asked for an appointment with the dermatologist, which I was given about 6 weeks hence! I decided not to wait that long to start working on it, so I did the hold below for a couple of nights in front of the TV and WOW it was so much better. I could hardly see any redness!

The Jin Shin Jyutsu Exercise

For the left side
Place the RIGHT fingers on the LEFT center of the foot. Hold the LEFT little toe with the LEFT fingers. Hold for a minimum of 20 minutes or more.

For the right side
Place the LEFT fingers on the RIGHT center of the foot. Hold the RIGHT little toe with the RIGHT fingers.
