Effectiveness of Jin Shin Jyutsu Treatments

Intention and Attention when practicing Jin Shin Jyutsu

Question:

Thanks for your great blog. I have a question about intention and attention when practicing JSJ. This question arises because I also practice Reiki, where the practice is more effective when the practitioner has a focused attention.

My question about JSJ is whether we find the same thing. Is a hold more effective when one gives one’s full attention to it? Or is it just as effective to hold a position while watching TV or talking on the phone? If not, is it effective at all?

I guess I’m wondering whether the mere physical contact is enough to bring about the healing in JSJ, or whether intention/attention is essential to it as well.

Thanks in advance for your help! Greg

Answer:

Hi Greg – thanks for your really good question.

This is something that I would love to spend time debating. But the short answer is that it depends on how you define effective. Both ‘ways’ are effective. However, if I am watching a movie, I might be less AWARE of the sensations I have during a self-help treatment, but in my experience, it is not less EFFECTIVE because I am working with the energy already there.

On the other hand, when I am comfortable and I close my eyes, I more often than not experience many, many sensations, from physical to blissfully floaty, even ‘spiritual’ sensations.

But as Master Mary always used to say: ‘be your own testimony’ – try both ways and experience the difference for yourself.

I can honestly say that if you hold ANY Safety Energy Lock for an hour sitting or lying quietly, ‘stuff will happen’.
