Regulating Acidity in the Body
Diet is obviously extremely important to regulate acidity in the body.
Many foods are highly acidic and can overload the system. This can cause all kinds of discomforts leading to dis-ease and illness. It’s all about maintaining the blood PH balance of the body, which is slightly alkaline, between Human blood pH should be slightly alkaline 7.35 – 7.45. Below or above this range means symptoms and disease. A pH of 7.0 is neutral. A pH below 7.0 is acidic. A pH above 7.0 is alkaline.*
Eating a lot of protein acidifies the blood
According to research done at the University of Wisconsin by Dr. Helen Linksweiler and Dr. Josephine Lutz, a diet with a high protein content acidifies the blood (as sugar does). Acidified blood will dissolve calcium from the bones.
Something I didn’t know until recently and it really surprised me. That lovely tea with lemon is a really corrosive drink that depletes calcium from the body, so watch out with that.
Watch out for that cola
And more scary than the tea and lemon drink is this: “To neutralize a glass of cola with a pH of 2.5, it would take 32 glasses of alkaline water with a pH of 10.”*
There are many foods that have a high calcium content: sesame seeds and tahini, seaweeds, beans and nuts and a variety of greens amongst others. It’s about finding a balance.
´If you suspect that your body is overly acidic, just fast one to five days. You could also consume only fresh fruits and vegetables, uncooked and without seasonings of any kind. The body is fully capable of correcting all internal imbalances. It will automatically do so as soon as the cases of the problem are removed (and, in some cases, before the causes of the problem are removed, as a matter of life or death).

Exercise for the right side (shown)
Place left hand over right shoulder and fold the right fingers gently onto the right base of thumb (it is not a fist).
For the left side
Place right hand over left shoulder and fold the left fingers onto the left base of thumb.
You can do either or both sides.
