Self Help for Anxiety and Panic Attacks

There is an energy site on the outside of the wrist which is number 17 – it came into the universe meaning Reproductive Energy (as in generating new energy).

Hold this energy site in emergencies to balance the nervous system.

It is also a great helper to alleviate anxiety and panic attacks; and you can use it as a smelling salt if you feel faint.

This energy site on the outside of the wrist is also fantastic instead of that Mars bar fix in the middle of the afternoon when you might need a quick energy boost – it’s a quick reviver!

Holding the outside of the wrist also helps with the development of intuition, and alleviates chest congestion.

In the case of panic attacks, I would also cross my arms and place my hands on the insides of the knees. The insides of the knees  is THE place to hold in emergencies – keeps you BREATHING, and helps ease nausea and vomiting.

If this hold is a bit awkward because you are in a public place for instance, then just grab your left little finger with your right hand and hold. I find holding the left little finger especially useful at the first sign of my heart racing a bit.

Self help holds for Fast Stress Relief

Stress. We all have to deal with stresses every day, which impair the stability and balance of bodily functions. A little stress is good (gives us a little kick to get us going) but a lot of stress, or even worse, long term stress can cause tension on all levels: the physical, mental and emotional.

These self help holds that I talk about in Flows for Life, and based on the Ancient Art of Jin Shin Jyutsu, help relieve the tensions of stress. It’s about managing stresses that cause long term discomforts and pains. Anxiety, worry, fatigue, and a compromised immune system are just some of the effects of our modern day stresses that can lead to big label illnesses and conditions over a period of time.

The list of stress symptoms is vast and there is a hold, or Jin Shin Jyutsu exercise to help alleviate each one of them. At this point, a good all around de- stressing exercise is the Main Central Source of Life

Pay special attention to the position where the right hand is on the top of the head and the left fingers are placed between the breasts on the sternum. This position deepens the breathing – and encourages the exhale breath to ‘clean dirt, dust, grease and grime’ as Mary Burmeister used to say.
