Jin Shin Jyutsu How To Move the Energy for a Happy New Year

Happy New Year! On many levels, 2008 has been a very challenging year for a lot of us. So wonderful then, that the Ancient Art of Jin Shin Jyutsu can help us move the energy so that we can get ‘unstuck’ and open up to receive the abundance that life offers. It’s ALL about harmonising the breath to let go of the old and let in the new.

Mary Burmeister explains in Self Help Book 2 that the KEYS are found in the 26 Safety Energy Locks (SELs) on the body; 26 energy sites on the body each with a specific function. At the moment, the two SELs that I am working on every day are SEL 1 and SEL 10. First I ‘move the energy’ with SEL 1 then I ‘receive the abundance’ with SEL 10.

Mary calls Safety Energy Lock 1 ‘The Prime Mover‘. It is found on the inside (medial side) of the knees. It connects extreme heights with extreme depths and harmonises us from head to toe because it helps the descending energy (which moves down the front) and the ascending energy (which moves up the back). If you want to change your life, hold SEL 1 every day for an hour.

Mary calls Safety Energy Lock 10 ‘The Warehouse of Abundance
‘. It is found between the spine and the shoulderblade, half way down the shoulderblade. It releases an ‘outpouring of limitless life energy’ when unlocked. The easiest way to open up SEL 10 is to hold the upper arms (high 19s). Cross your arms and hold your upper arms – this also opens SEL 9 which is found below SEL 10.

Jin Shin Jyutsu: We Need Never Know Fatigue

In the ten years that I have studied and practised Jin Shin Jyutsu, there is something that Mary wrote that has always had the most profound impact on me. That impact changes with the years, as my deepening UNDERSTANDING of her wise, wise words becomes more and more of an experiential reality for me. When I feel tired or ‘not able to go on anymore’ I simply remember her words, I do a Jin Shin Jyutsu flow or hold, and presto! my reality changes, my energy levels are up and I’m HAPPY again.

This is what Mary Burmeister said:
‘We need never know FATIGUE. Energy can never TIRE. It is our PERSONAL imbalance that causes fatigue. When our 26 ‘safety’ Energy Locks are unlocked, we are in a state of ECSTASY – the SECRET of the fountain of youth, available equally to all eternally – that which was, is and shall be, IS. The MASTER KEY is our degree of desire and trust, the KNOWING. The SIMPLE reason for perfect health and happiness is being master of anything we do – LOVE IT regardless of what it is – menial, boring or inspirational work. There should be no person or thing one dislikes – as hatred develops imbalance, which causes Fatigue. HAPPINESS is an indication of our HARMONY. We are all created equally. We have our TWO HANDS as our REJUVENATORS and HARMONIZERS. With these two hands we have the privilege of helping ourselves and others to get in tune with the universe. Hands are generators of the Creator Power – not from within us, but a part of the ever constant and forever balanced universal SUPPLY. We need only be AWARE of this supply’.

Master Jiro Murai and Mary Burmeister

After 10 years of experiencing Jin Shin Jytusu, I can vouch for an awareness, a feeling of oneness, a profound connection with the all-encompassing energy of the universe that also connects us all. Working my way through various writings, I found that Master Jiro Murai studied acupuncture points, then took them a step further by experimenting on himself and fasting. He compared what he experienced, what he felt, to the ancient acupuncture writings. His experiences were much more profound than what he found in the writings.

Master Jiro Murai never left Japan, but his vision was to make the practice of Jin Shin Jyutsu available to the world.

After many, many years of study with Master Jiro Murai, Mary Burmeister began teaching the Art to others.

Part 1: Jin Shin Jyutsu (Physio-Philosophy)

Jin Shin Jyutsu physio-philosophy is an ancient art of harmonizing the life energy in the body. Born of innate wisdom and passed down from generation to generation by word of mouth, the Art had fallen into relative obscurity when it was dramatically revived in the early 1900’s by Master Jiro Murai in Japan.

After clearing himself of a life-threatening illness, Master Murai devoted the rest of his life to the research and development of Jin Shin Jyutsu, gathering insight from a range of experiences and resources, including the Kojiki (Record of Ancient Things). The resulting knowledge of Jin Shin Jyutsu was then given to Mary Burmeister, who brought it to the United States in the 1950’s.

Mary Burmeister began teaching the Art to others in the early 1960’s, and today there are thousands of students throughout the United States and around the world.
