We have all moved into 2011, and on February 3, the new Chinese Year will kick off. This time it’s the turn of the Rabbit to take center stage. It’s a good idea before this date to get your ‘house in order’ – pay your bills, get a new outfit or new shoes, clean out the junk in your house, put up some new paintings, get some new plants.

And of course it’s a great opportunity to start moving the energy in our own bodies.

The mover and shaker in Jin Shin Jyutsu is the energy site that is found on the inside of the knees: the energy site that is number one. This one is truly the Power of One! People have told me that when they held their ones for an hour every day, their lives changed!

So, if you want change in your life, start holding the inside of your knees. It doesn’t matter whether you cross your arms or not – do whatever feels comfortable for you. Hold at least for 20 minutes at a time if you can.

It’s wonderful that Jin Shin Jyutsu can help us move the energy so that we can get ‘unstuck’ and open up to receive the abundance that life offers. It’s ALL about harmonising the breath to let go of the old and let in the new.

Fatigue colours our world and affects how we feel, and Jin Shin Jyutsu is one of the most powerful ways to overcome fatigue.

Time after time, I have tried and tested these holds and it is absolutely amazing how my whole world can change in 20 minutes – purely because I have been able to energise myself. And if I can, you can too with this simple exercise.

The Spleen energy governs our energy levels and this exercise is very powerful for vitality and calm (one needs energy to stay calm, believe it or not!) – 20 minutes minimum every day.

The Spleen is the biggest lymphatic organ in the body and if kept happy, helps all the other organs.

In Jin Shin Jyutsu, a sequence of HOLDS is referred to as a FLOW. The following self-help flow can be used to revitalise and re-energise the whole system, and to be ‘happy and content where ever you are’. Use it to regulate the body’s temperature (to warm the body when it’s cold, to cool the body when it’s hot), and to balance the nervous system (to calm).

Hold each step for a few minutes or until you feel you want to move to the next position. Tip: put on a chill out CD and when the track changes, move the hands to the next position… The music can add a wonderful dimension to the session…

GENERAL ENERGY REVITALISING FLOW (Spleen Flow)
(Right energy pattern)
Step 1
Place Left hand on base of spine (coccyx)
Place Right hand on right inside of heel
Step 2
Move Right hand and place on left base of rib cage and hold
Step 3
Move Left hand and place on right above breast area
Step 4
Move Left hand and place on left center of collar bone

So to summarise: the Spleen flow helps beat fatigue, insomnia, headaches, anxiety and much more. It stimulates the immune system, helps the digestive system, helps regulate our body temperature (you can use it to warm and to cool the body – isn’t that great?) – this flow also helps the skin, helps beat the attitude of WORRY and well, it’s just a great general all round wonder flow – use it with HUMILITY AND GRATITUDE!

Following on from my previous posts and the subject of parasites in the intestines. There are many people who suffer many symptoms caused by these little so and so’s, but don’t know they have them. All the Jin Shin Jyutsu exercises in the previous post are helpful against parasites, and also particularly the 16, 17, 18, 19 flow in text 1.

Some anti-parasite dietary advice I found online:
Don’t eat refined foods, dairy products, and sugars. Eat more raw garlic (or take garlic capsules), pumpkin seeds, pomegranates, beets, cabbage and carrots, all of which have good properties against parasites. Drink a lot of water to promote elimination. Consume more fiber, which helps get rid of worms. Supplement your diet with probiotics, such as Lactobacillus acidophilus, Lactobacilus plantarum, Saccharomyces boulardii, (and bifidobacteria, to keep parasites from spreading).

Digestive enzymes will help restore your intestinal tract to its normal state, which makes it inhospitable to parasites. Papain (extracted from papaya) taken 30 minutes before or after meals helps kill worms. Raw vegetables and raw fruit are rich sources of enzymes (vegetable juicing is a great way to get your daily quota in). While all raw foods contain enzymes, the most powerful enzyme-rich foods are sprouted seeds, grains, and legumes. Sprouting increases the enzyme content in these foods enormously. Lack of digestive enzymes can be a factor in food allergies. Symptoms of digestive enzymes depletion are bloating, belching, gas, bowel disorders, abdominal cramping, heartburn and food allergies.

And here’s some more of my own research – very top line:
Make sure you are not vitamin and especially mineral deficient (take a supplement). Keep an alkaline PH level in the body – acidity promotes parasites. Drink spring water with fresh lemon juice (lemon juice turns alkaline in the stomach), have fresh grapefruit (also turns alkaline and helps clean the liver) and choose (organic) short grain brown rice (cleans the intestines) over other types. And the usual advice: stay away from alcohol, coffee, tobacco, sweets and refined & processed foods.

Question: Can Jin Shin Jyutsu help with Colitis Ulcerosa?

Answer: Yes, Jin Shin Jyutsu is a great way to calm any digestive disorder or discomfort. Below are links to different self-help exercises. I have also read some studies showing that Homeopathic medicine (in particular Spagiric Homeopathy) in combination with BioResonance treatments (which could be Jin Shin Jyutsu treatments) have successfully helped Colitis Ulcerosa. I suggest looking for a homeopath and jin shin jyutsu practitioner in your local area for major benefits.

What is Colitis Ulcerosa or Ulcerative Colitis?
Ulcerative colitis is a chronic inflammation of the large intestine or colon. In people with ulcerative colitis, ulcers and inflammation of the inner lining of the colon lead to symptoms of abdominal pain, diarrhea, and rectal bleeding. The cause is not known but what happens is that the immune system goes berserk in the intestines (inflammation is an important defence mechanism by the immune system). (see more info on medicinet.com)

THE FOLLOWING EXERCISES CAN HELP ALLEVIATE ANY DIGESTIVE DISORDER, PAIN OR DISCOMFORT – however, if you feel uncomfortable during these exercises discontinue doing them for a while, then try again for a few minutes each time. Experiment and listen to what your body is telling you!

Do these two exercises as often as possible:
To clear the front (especially during a flare up) place the left hand over the right shoulder (SEL 11) and the right hand on the sitting-bone (buttock SEL 25) with palm up. Reverse hands for the left side. This exercise is to help the descending energy down the front of the body.

To clear the back, place the left hand over the right shoulder (SEL 11) and the right hand on the groin (SEL 15). Reverse hands for the left side. This hold also helps boost OR CALM the immune system. This exercise is to help the ascending energy up the back of the body.

See the link to the chart of the 26 Safety Energy Locks

The first two steps of self-help stomach flow (right energy pattern): Place your left fingers on the right cheekbone (SEL 21) and your right fingers on the right center of collar bone (SEL 22) . After a few minutes, move right hand to left base of rib cage (SEL 14). Reverse the hands for the left energy pattern.
