I say: ‘Your health, happiness and longevity lies in knowing where to put your hands on your body.’ The ancient Art of Jin Shin Jyutsu shows us how, and opens up the whole world of Getting to KNOW (Help) MYSELF. Therin lies the lifelong study of the ART.

After 10 years, I am more than ever in awe of the healing power of this Art. I have myself experienced rapid (I mean in seconds) relief from pain and discomfort, and have been empowered by the fact that I AM the one in charge of Helping MYSELF.

There are two types of conditions: Acute and Chronic. Acute conditions (seem to) flare up suddenly like for instance, appendicitis. One of my favourite stories happened to one of the Jin Shin Jyutsu instructors. He went to hospital with an acute pain in his right side – was told he had appendicitis and that he would have to be operated on. He decided to ‘wait a bit’, went home and held SEL 11 + 25 (to clear the energy down the front). Within 20 minutes, ‘something went pop’, the pain dissipated then stopped, and that was the end of that. I believe he still has his appendix! Of course, I don’t condone that just anyone do this. You’ve got to know what you’re doing.

Chronic conditions are more challenging in many respects because there are many more factors involved over a longer period of time. There could be genetic, emotional and physical issues present for instance, that would need to be worked on. I have heard stories of children born with Down’s Syndrome who, if worked on by their parents every day, will show no signs of DS by the time they are in their teens. Change the energy, change the physical.

And finally, I worked on someone living with cancer every week for years – her quality of life improved, and at the end when she left her body, she was at peace. Her healing took place in a different way.

So in answer to the question: How long does it take for Jin Shin Jyutsu to heal? I would then ask: ‘How long does it take to harmonise the breath?’
