			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>I often see people in a &#8216;perfect&#8217; Jin Shin Jyutsu self help position (meaning they&#8217;ve placed their hands on energy sites on their bodies), even though they&#8217;ve probably never heard of this ancient healing art before in their lives. How can this be?</p>
<p>Jin Shin Jyutsu is an innate wisdom that we all tap into unknowingly and intuitively when we hear the body&#8217;s message: please help me! By introducing Jin shin Jyutsu, one awakens to the conscious application of the art, and therefore is empowered to do something about the discomfort, the pain, and the every day sufferings that we humans &#8216;endure&#8217;.</p>
<p>I say let&#8217;s not endure any more! Let&#8217;s not solely exist and be &#8216;victims&#8217; to all the slings and arrows that life throws at us, but let&#8217;s actively and consciously live a happier, healthier and more aware and empowered existence.</p>
<p>Jin Shin Jyutsu helps us do this.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Even if we&#8217;ve never heard of the ancient art of Jin Shin Jyutsu, we most often naturally place our hands unconsciously on our body when we need help in a certain area. Isn’t it therefore great to consciously KNOW where to put our hands to HELP MYSELF?</p>
<p>This is a quick summary of the relationship between the fingers, the corresponding key energy site and attitude:</p>
<p><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Finger                   Energy Site (there is a left and right side)              (SEL)      Attitude (Emotion)<br />
</span>Thumb                  Forehead above the eyebrows                                    20          WORRY</p>
<p>Index                    Just below the collarbone                                            22           FEAR</p>
<p>Middle                  Third rib down on the chest                                        13           ANGER</p>
<p>Ring                       Last rib before the abdomen                                       14           GRIEF</p>
<p>Little                      Groin either side of pubic bone                                 15           TRYING TO</p>
<p>For a full Jin Shin Jyutsu Self help session you could spend a whole hour holding these five energy sites placing the left hand on the left side, and the right hand on the right side (it means spending about 10 minutes on each energy site).  A great way to start or end the day!</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>There are five Attitudes: Worry, Fear, Anger, Grief and Pretense.  Each finger corresponds to an attitude, so you can harmonise Worry by holding the Thumb, Fear by holding the Index Finger, Anger by holding the Middle Finger, Grief by Holding the Ring Finger and Pretense by holding the Little Finger.</p>
<p>You don’t hold your thumb or finger so that the attitude ‘goes away’ – rather, you hold it so that you allow that feeling to harmonise and so that you can observe that attitude and gain more clarity. Attitudes in themselves are not bad – we are, after all human beings and part of our make up is to experience all these emotions, or attitudes.</p>
<p>The ‘problem’ arises when we get STUCK in the behaviours that go along with these attitudes.</p>
<p>The prime attitude is FEAR (False Evidence Appearing Real) – out of FEAR come all the others. Anger, for instance is about wanting something to happen in a certain way, our way. And if that doesn’t happen then I get ‘angry’. Sadness or grief has to do with losing something that I cherished – but if that grief goes on for 20 years then I have got stuck in that grief.  Attitudes are not right or wrong – but they can be changed so they don’t control our every day behaviour.</p>
<p>So hold your thumb and fingers whenever your hands are idle. You’ll be harmonising attitudes, moving the energy and revitalising your whole being. What could be easier?</p>
<p>And the effect is cumulative, so the more you hold, the more you ‘clean’ and the more you harmonise.</p>

<div><span style="font-family:trebuchet ms;">The ancient Japanese Art of Jin Shin Jyutsu is often described as &#8216;Acupuncture with the fingers&#8217;, but it involves no manipulation, pressure or massage so it is safe for every body from ages 0 to 100! Jin Shin Jyutsu harmonises and balances the life energy in the body by placing the fingers and hands (over clothing) on specific &#8216;energy sites&#8217; called Safety Energy Locks (there are 26 on either side of the body) to alleviate symptoms of disharmony. </span></div>

<p>Jin Shin Jyutsu employs 26 &#8216;Safety Energy Locks&#8217; or energy sites as I sometimes call them, along energy pathways that feed life into our bodies. <p>Holding these energy locks in combination can bring balance to the whole being. Holding these energy sites in a combination of special sequences is what we term a &#8216;Flow&#8217;. The one who invented the saying &#8216;to be in the flow&#8217; really knew what she was talking about&#8230;</p>
<p>Learning Jin Shin Jyutsu engages one in self study, self help. Through the process of &#8216;Now Know MYSELF&#8217; we learn to recognise the wisdom of the body, to interpret the messages provided and to utilise them to restore balance.</p>

Working my way through various writings, I found that Master Jiro Murai studied acupuncture points, then took them a step further by experimenting on himself and fasting. He compared what he experienced, what he <em>felt,</em> to the ancient acupuncture writings. His experiences were much more profound than what he found in the writings.</p>
<p>Master Jiro Murai never left Japan, but his vision was to make the practice of Jin Shin Jyutsu available to the world.</p>
<p>After many, many years of study with Master Jiro Murai, Mary Burmeister began teaching the Art to others.</p>
<p>Mary has more than fulfilled Master Jiro Murai&#8217;s hope for her. Since his death in 1961 she has been the world&#8217;s foremost teacher of Jin Shin Jyutsu, as well as the embodiment of all that the Art offers. Mary describes the essence of Jin Shin Jyutsu as &#8216;Getting to To KNOW (Help) MYSELF.</p>
